Volunteer of the Year

Erika Cripe

We’re proud to recognize Erika Cripe as BGCNIC’s Volunteer of the Year! A retired English teacher of 33 years, Erika has spent the past two years supporting struggling readers at our Muessel Club. What started as a one-day-a-week commitment quickly grew—along with her impact.
She customizes lessons, runs her own assessments, creates flashcards, and collaborates closely with staff to ensure each child gets the support they need. Erika’s passion is clear: “I love the children and see a huge need for help with reading. I wish I could be with them more.”
